This might sound crazy but you can never be sure if you are truly "awake" . This radical skepticism helps blur the lines between existence and none at all. But the truth is we all exist, and fully awake for the most part. To simply think is to exist, as simple as that sounds. It goes perfectly along with the saying, "I think, therefore I am" . I simply can't be so skeptical to think that a demon controlling everyone and everything is even slightly probable like Descartes did. That's just too much work, even for an ominous, super-evil being. It's probably just because I don't have a close-knit relationship with any deity right now. So therefore I don't believe that God nor the Devil have any special plans for me. I'd have to make those special plans myself with the way I go about life. I guess the reason why people depend on those big deities is because it makes the world suck less for them, and lets them have less responsibility over their own lives. Don't get me wrong, I love a good back-up plan. I just like mine to be tangible.
